This sculpture conveys my attitude towards communication and relationships between friends and family at the time. We have so much that connects us, so many systems that help us connect, language, transport, technology, body language, but at that time I felt that I was missing clear and honest information from those of whom I had high expectations. The structure in the middle of the two eyeless and mouthless heads was inspired by Mondrian's squares, Le Corbusier's designs and the very building in which I attended the sculpture classes. My initial sketches are below.
On the left is a black fine drawing of the lattice-like facade of Triveni House, the art and performance establishment in Mandi House, Delhi. On the right is a quick limning out of my idea for the sculpture. The physical movement of the medium and the studies that I had previously made informed the final piece to a great extent.
